Sunday School

Sunday School opens with an opening devotion at 10:25 pm in the Parish Hall at Christ Lutheran Church for all children and adults each Sunday.

After the opening, 3 year old's - 6th graders will go to their classrooms for their Sunday School lesson.

In the months of February, the offering for Sunday School will be going to the Concordia Seminary Food. Bank in St. Louis, MO AND Concordia Theological Seminary Food Bank in Fort Wayne, IN.

Each of these resources support the young men and their families with food and clothing during their time on campus. Since we are doing both pantries, we will not be doing an actual food drive. We would rather collect money that you would spend on purchasing food items for a food drive. At the end of February, we will then split the amount between the two. Last year, your support for Fort Wayne surpassed our expectations. We would like to do this again. 

Our goal is to collect at least $400 for EACH pantry ($800 total). 

There will be collection containers available to put your donation in during each service. 
Checks can be made out to the church, put in memo line - Seminary Pantry. 
The containers will be out starting January 31st thru February 22nd. We will collect thru Friday, February 27th.

For the month of March, the Sunday School offerings will go to support the ministry at Camp CILCA in Cantrall, Illinois.

The Central Illinois Lutheran Camp Association exists to foster and strengthen faith in Jesus Christ and relationships with others in a unique outdoor setting. 

The camp sits on 225 acres of woodland and open fields. It offers a summer program of week-long camps and outdoor experiences for students of all ages and abilities; Outdoor Education programs for area students; and camping of many kinds for individuals, families and groups. Rustic and all-weather sleeping cabins, campsites for tents, trailers, RV’s and pop-ups, swimming lake with a beach, athletic fields, Challenge Course, and indoor and outdoor chapel spaces are among the camp’s features. 

The summer program this year runs from May 27- July 31.
