The Sunday School Staff will be installed at the end of the Divine Service. 

Three-year-old's, First graders, Third graders and Fifth graders will receive their My First Catechism books and Bibles at the end of the Divine Service.

We will have a lunch at 11:30 am for the confirmation students, their families, and mentors.

7th-8th Grade Confirmation Orientation: 12:15 pm in the Parish Hall & Acolyte Training: 12:45 pm.

Women's Night Out will meet on Thursday, August 27th at 6:30 pm at Parkview Inn.

The Big Give is coming back to Christ Lutheran Church this fall.

What is Big Give?
An opportunity to help provide your neighbors in need with Thanksgiving meals.
Home Sweet Home Mission, Thrivent and Midwest Food Bank teamed up again and are asking community members to help them collect items for meal boxes that they distribute during Thanksgiving. Last year’s efforts helped feed over 1,800 families.

All CLC members and guests are warmly invited to a fun and creative fall porch pot making class!

This class will take place on Thursday, September 3rd from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Activity Building (across from Christ Lutheran Church).

You’ll receive an 11" peat pot, 5 plants, a pumpkin or scarecrow, soil, plus personalized step-by-step instruction to craft your own beautiful fall porch pot. Enjoy fellowship, meet new friends, and celebrate the beauty of God’s creation by creating a porch pot arrangement — perfect for
yourself or as a thoughtful gift. All ages are welcome. Children ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Once the class is over, stay for fellowship around the fire pit with s'mores and cider. Adults may bring adult beverages or additional snacks, as desired.

A Hymn Festival celebrating the hymnody of Pastor Paul Gerhardt will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Sunday, August 9, 
at 3:00 pm. 

The guest organist will be Joel Freiberg. He holds a B.A. in Music (‘24) and M.A. in Church Music (‘26) from Concordia University Chicago. 

Joel will begin PhD work this fall at Baylor University studying church music. 

He serves as the Kantor at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waco, TX. 

The hymn festival will include the playing and singing of seven Lutheran hymns along with commentaries and readings. 

Refreshments will be served. Please mark this date on your calendar.

The next Men's Night Out will be on Monday, August 3rd, starting at 6:00 pm at Smash House Tavern.

Midwest Food Bank supplies 461 local nonprofit partners, schools, and food pantries with food each month. 

Join us for an evening service project to support this Christian based food bank in their mission to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.

When: Wednesday, August 12th, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. 
Pizza and drinks will be available at 5:00 pm for those who are interested in additional fellowship time.

All men of Christ Lutheran Church are invited to join Esto Vir, a Men’s Bible Study.

We’ll be diving into the wisdom of Solomon in the book of Proverbs - which is basically God’s collection of “life advice your dad probably tried to give you, but with less yelling and more divine authority.”

Topics may include things like:

• How to speak wisely (and not regret text messages at 2:13 AM)
• Why laziness is spiritually and practically a bad plan
• How to be strong, faithful, and not completely unhinged in modern life

No prior expertise required - bring yourself, a Bible, and your drink of choice. Cigars and pipes are welcome.
